    A very interesting Northern Hawk Owl chose to land on a cattail instead of nearby branches and spent about a minute trying to stay balanced.

    Barred Owl at Sunset

    After unsuccessfully hiking the trails for two hours trying to find a Barred Owl (among other animals), this one decided to perch on the best possible spot (sunlight hitting the tree, no branch obstructions) for about 10 seconds before taking off into the forest again as I was just about in front of my car. Go figure.
